MADHOUSE revealed that it has begun producing animation based on the Peanuts comic strip by the late American artist Charles M. Schulz. According to the studio, it has produced an animated short that "is released somewhere in Tokyo" and indicated that the short is also on the web. Only two studios have been authorized by Peanuts Worldwide LLC to make animation; the other is Bill Melendez Productions, the studio famous for the Peanuts television specials.
