Teru Teru Momiji

Me and the gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous Zuumie went out today to take some cosplay pictures, unfortunately we completely lost the light on her part, so all the pictures are.... totally worthless to put it bluntly.

But Zuumie took some GREAT pictures of me in my Momiji costume :D
just in time before I have to restyle the wig <3

Who's in the forest strolling?
The birds and the bees sing Momiji!
The frogs in the pond are calling,
Momiji, yes, it's true.
The trees raise their leaves together.
Who needs the sun when we've got you?

Review: beauty28888 at ebay.com

A month ago I ordered a pair of false eyelashes on ebay, just because I could. I made it my quest to seek out the cheapest lashes with shipping and ended up with a pair for about 2,50 $ including shipping. A very good price for the lashes.

Here is the sellers own picture of the lashes and they look like the ones I got. Because of the price I wasn't expecting any great false lashes and they have a plastic feel and look, but I can defiantly use them in any diva shoots (to Sheryl Nome among others).

Here is what it looked when I put them on without any other make-up. They were a bit hard and the glue was not the best, but they stayed on for a few hours.

And then I tried them with make-up. Suddenly they fitted my face much better and I got to see a bit more diva of myself.

Summery: The shipping took a bit long, but I was alerted by this of the seller. The lashes were worth their price and I will defiantly have fun with them. The glue that came with the lashes ain't top class, but it will work for photo shoots. I just have to get a better when it is time for conventions.

Post KodachiKun + Vlog

Post KodachiKun + Vlog

It's been two weeks since I got back home from KodachiKun and I could say that I was a bit disappointed by the convention. But on the other hand I was at the Con this spring and that was much bigger, grander and organised. I didn't got to see the cosplay show, since me and my friends were out for dinner at that moment, and I think that is mostly why I didn't really feel like I fitted in. It could also be that I'm getting older and don't fit the screaming, jumping fourteen years old girl standard anymore, I just have bigger demands now. But here comes my first Vlog, about yeah KodachiKun.

It's scary to hear yourself talking on a video. I sound so... girly. Let me know if you want to see more vlogs, I'll probably will do them anyway.

Infernal to a lense

I know. I make the best titles. Deal with it.

So. As I've said.
Promised Kiba to make my Ciel for J-popcon, so I'm slowly working through it.
No process picture with the outfit itself yet, I 'tore' it off the mannequin, because I got tired of being taunted by it's unfinishness.

So today I practiced a little with the make-up, and I think I've settled on this look.

(of course my Sony decided to run out of battery, so.. cellphone x_x;;)

And a quick shot to show, how big a difference make-up and lenses does.
(I look stoned, but it was the clearest picture I got)

Selvaria Bles & Radi Jaeger - Valkyria Chronicles

My big project for 2010 was putting together these two costumes.

For Selvaria, I remade the blouse a few times with different materials to get the correct fit.  I had custom embroidered fleur de lis made for the cuffs, which were made from velvet.  Additional cuff details were made with trim and gold puffy paint.  The pattern on the pants was painstakingly hand-drawn, but they're my pride and joy!  The knee pads were made from craft foam.  For the lance and shield, my husband created a foam and wood base based on blueprints we both worked on.  I took the base pieces and covered them with individually cut pieces of craft foam which were later sealed and painted.  It took many, many hours for me to do that!

For Radi Jaeger, I hand seamed the fabric for the coat to match the pattern and used the same velvet seen on Selvaria's cuffs for the front of it.  I then crafted the skull, which had a plastic roast chicken as a base--a perfect example of creativity when it comes to cosplay!  For the metallic vest, I sewed craft foam together, sealed it, applied stud detailing, and painted it.  My husband made his own gauntlet, and we both worked on the thigh armor.

Old Snake - Metal Gear Solid 4 Photos

Two and a half weeks before we left for Tokyo Game Show, my husband asked me to make him an Old Snake to wear at TGS.  I made the entire Octocamo suit, and my husband made/sourced everything else (except for the Solid Eye, which our gracious friend Jill lent to us to help us save time).

Getting a suit this complicated finished in such a short amount of time was hell, but I'm so happy with the results!  It includes padded and seamed detailing, optical sensors (washers), and two types of white text applied with custom stamps.  The only thing I'd really like to improve is my husband's old age makeup-- we're always running out of time when I apply it, so I can't make it dark enough/contoured enough.  It doesn't help that he's got perfect skin to start with either...

Sweet Raiden - MGS4 Figumate Photos

This costume is near and dear to my heart- it took me to Japan after all!  When I first saw the Sweet Snake figurine set, I fell in love with how adorable each of the figurines was, and when my friend Jill said she was doing Sweet Snake, I knew I wanted to do Raiden.  Hatsuu later joined us as the adorable Sweet Ocelot.  I had a lot of fun cosplaying with them!

I heard about a Kojima signing at Comic Con and a supposed cosplay contest for Metal Gear.  I figured the contest was a joke because I'd never heard of anything like that before, and just showed up to the signing hoping to get my costume signed.  I never did get it signed, but the contest turned out to be real-- and the surprise prize was a trip to Tokyo Game Show.  I later won the Kojima Productions Award with this costume at TGS and was told I increased sales of the figurines by Kojima himself.  Not bad at all!
